This book reflects the challenges faced by FamilyVoice Australia in engaging Australian culture and seeking to share God's wisdom over the past 40 years.
It tells of David's brushes with thugs from the world of organised crime, and of being harassed by politicians who objected to his opinions.
When David challenged the myth that porn is good for you, police arrived on his doorstep seeking to prosecute him. When he challenged the myth that easy divorce is good for society, ASIO placed them under surveillance. How did God protect and provide through it all?
The book provides theological foundations and practical examples of how to address critical issues facing Australian society even as it grows more hostile to Christian faith and values.
About the author
David Phillips and his wife Ros were among the enthusiastic Christians who helped found the Festival of Light ministry, later known as FamilyVoice Australia, over 40 years ago.
David had turned to Christ while a student at Sydney University where he gained an honours degree in science, later achieving a PhD in physics and a research scientist career with the commonwealth government. He also has a diploma in theology.
David chaired the South Australian branch of Festival of Light from 1975 for over 30 years. After retiring from his scientific career in 2002, he oversaw the development of FamilyVoice as a vigorous national organisation with active branches in all states.
David and Ros have four married children and 15 grandchildren.
